"I'd Really Honey to See You This evening" is a song written by Parker McGee and was a hit past England Dan & John Ford Coley from their 1976 album Nights Are Forever. It eventually peaked at No. ii on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks, behind Wild Ruddy'due south "Play That Funky Music" and No. 1 on the Easy Listening chart.[1] Billboard ranked it as the No. 21 vocal for 1976.[two] It reached No. 26 in the official UK chart.

Dan Seals, the "England Dan" half of the duo, re-recorded the song in 1995 in an audio-visual country music style.

In popular culture [edit]

  • The band performed the song on the 1977 NBC teen drama serial James at 15 in the episode "The Blowout" during the school dance scene.
  • In the 1996 activity thriller film The Long Kiss Goodnight starring Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson, Jackson's grapheme hears the song on the auto radio while driving and starts to sing the chorus every bit "I'thou not talking 'bout the linens...", instead of "I'k not talking 'tour moving in", and Davis'southward graphic symbol and so promptly corrects his mondegreen.
  • In the 2013 one-act picture show Anchorman 2, the song is briefly featured in a scene where Ron Burgundy (played by Volition Ferrell) revisits his divorced wife Veronica Corningstone (played past Christina Applegate) and his son Walter only as he is approaching the door of their flat in New York Metropolis with a souvenir for Walter.
  • Featured in the 2019 Netflix movie El Camino.
