The Pixel three and Pixel three XL are a pair of Android smartphones designed, developed, and marketed by Google as function of the Google Pixel product line. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come in three colors: 'Simply Black' (all blackness), 'Conspicuously White' (white with a mint green power button), and 'Not Pink' (pink, with an orange power button).[14] The Pixel three's bezels are significantly smaller than its predecessor's. The Pixel 3 Twoscore is the first Pixel device to use a brandish notch. They both run on Android Pie natively and both take admission to Android 12.[fifteen] The display notch tin can be "blacked out" in developer options.[sixteen] [17]

  • Learning-based Portrait Mode - Portrait Mode at present uses a machine-learning-based pipeline for more uniformly defocused backgrounds and fewer depth map errors
  • Synthetic Fill up Flash - uses auto-learning based segmentation algorithm to add together Fill Flash to ameliorate low-cal up faces.[26]
  • Spectral + flicker sensor - prevents flicker upshot under certain indoor lighting such as LED lighting

Reception [edit]

Several reviewers, including Dieter Bohn from The Verge, Mark Spoonauer from Tom'south Hardware, and Julian Chokkattu from Digital Trends, stated that the Pixel 3'southward camera was "the all-time camera you could get on a smartphone."[32] [33] Digital Trends concluded the Pixel 3 XL had the all-time output, qualitatively, after comparing its photographic camera output with other leading smartphones, including the Apple iPhone XS Max, Samsung Galaxy Note nine, and the Google Pixel ii XL.[34] American technology reviewer Marques Brownlee in his Smartphone Awards video in December, 2018 said that the Pixel three & 3 XL have the best cameras of all smartphones.[35]

Andrei Frumusanu from AnandTech, stated "Google's Pixels significantly climb upward the ladder in terms of low-light photography ranking, even putting themselves at a comfortable altitude ahead of the previous low-lite champions, Huawei's fortyMP sensor phones as well every bit their own dark mode."[36]

  • Pixel 3 XL has imbalanced speakers. This is less pronounced on the smaller Pixel 3 due to its larger top speaker. Fixed bug [edit]

  • Some users are reporting that some camera photos are failing to salve. The issue may be related to Google Camera.[54] Google has released a set up for this in the December 2018 update.[55]
